Crock Pot

Eating at home is the best way to ensure you are getting real, clean, and nutritious ingredients. With a little practice, you can master techniques to cook delicious food in bulk and have healthy options whenever you need them. The Crock Pot is a home chef staple and can make planning for your food week much easier.

Crock Pot is a brand name, but it has become synonymous with slow cooking. The electric slow cooker provides the versatility to cook soups, stews, and roasts without having to keep an eye on the stove all day long. Sealing heat inside, you can choose how long to cook for and what temperature to cook at.

A great confidence builder, even beginner chefs can make delicious soups, stews, and chili’s.  Chili, pulled pork, and chicken soup are guaranteed to come out great (unless you really mess things up!). It’s also perfect for making several servings of relatively inexpensive meals. Slow cooking is perfect for the cheaper, tougher cuts of meat because it breaks down connective tissue leaving a tender and moist end product.

Arming yourself with leftovers guarantees a stable and nutritious food plan. If you have available options you’ll be less likely to cheat. Pack the crockpot with enough ingredients to last for a few days. Don’t feel the need to hover over it the whole day either. It’s designed to be turned on and left alone, giving you hours of flexible time before you cash in on your delicious meal.

Here’s a few tips to help you along:

  • Give meats and vegetables a quick sear before placing in the Crock Pot. It will greatly enhance the flavor!
  • It will take some experimenting to be comfortable with the amount of liquid you use. Generally speaking, you will want to make sure the food is covered when you start cooking. You will get an idea as time goes on if you want more or less for certain recipes.
  • Be prepared to freeze some servings. If you cook a large quantity, you don’t want to get to day four of eating it and decide you want something else. Freezing will give you available options whenever you want.
  • Sunday is a great day for the Crock Pot! Get a recipe together in the morning, load it up, and you will have yourself a wonderful dinner.
  • Use it overnight! Prepping a little extra during dinner gives you the chance to cook a bulk meal overnight. You’ll have options for breakfast or lunch when you wake up!
