Bunless Burger / Chopped Toppings / Guacamole

By January 28, 2018 No Comments

The bun’s gotta go! No need to waste energy digesting a ball of rolled up refined flour and sugar. Chop up some veggies, make a fresh guacamole, and lay the burger right in the middle. Here’s the play by play…

Fresh Guacamole

Finely Chop and add to medium sized bowl:

-1 shallot

-1 jalapeno

-1 cup of fresh cilantro

Add 2-3 ripe avocado’s to the bowl.

Season with:

-1 TBSP olive oil

-1 fresh squeezed lime

-Sea salt to preference

Stir well and place in the fridge to cool.

Chop Veggies and Prepare on Serving Plate

-1-2 cups (a healthy handful for two) of romaine lettuce (or other greens you have available)

-Tomatoes of your choice

Burgers

If you have grill access, use it.  Always the quickest and easiest for clean up.  425 degrees, four minutes each side roughly for medium rare.  Preheat the grill well beforehand.

Stovetop, plan to sear than oven finish.  Set the oven to 400.  Prep a skillet on medium-high heat with enough avocado oil (or other high heat option) to cover the pan.  Sear for 2-3 minutes on each side (or until brown), then place in the oven for 2-3 minutes to finish.  Be careful not to overcook in the oven.

The guacamole should be nice and chilled.  Serve with pickles, ketchup, and whatever other sides you want.  Enjoy!
