Top 3 Ways To Stop Late Night Snacking

You’ve eaten dinner and are settling into your evening routine. Maybe you’re watching a show, researching your next vacation, or putting your kids to sleep. Pretty soon—and we’ve all been there—you’re back to the kitchen for one more snack before bed. But late-night snacking disrupts sleep, digestion, and metabolism. And let’s be honest, the late-night choice usually isn’t the healthiest.

Here are three ways to put a stop to late-night snacking (even if it’s just for a week):

  1. Eat a Bigger Dinner: If you eat until you are full at dinner, you shouldn’t have the need for anything else an hour later. Try to double down on proteins, veggies, and fats. You’re better off with more broccoli and olive oil at 7pm than you are Häagan-Dazs at 9:30pm!
  2. Brush Your Teeth: Jump the gun and get right to cleaning those pearly whites! Flossing, brushing, and rinsing closes the book on your day. It’s a great way to curb snacking temptations!
  3. Don’t Buy It! We all know if it’s in the house, it’s over. It becomes infinitely more difficult to hold off if you always have options around. Try to skip buying your favorite post-dinner snacks for a week. See if you can do it!
