Take what you already know and keep building on it. Take stock of what your exercise experience has been over the years, pay attention to how your body is feeling, and work on developing exercises for YOU. Creating a differential between what your hips, ribs, and spine are doing lengthens and strengthens the abdominal wall. If you’re doing crunches and not getting results, work on an approach more authentic to how your muscles operate.
