Top Three Ways to Get More Water Into Your Day

Our bodies are made up of approximately 2/3 water. Not tea, not seltzer, but good old-fashioned H2O. Every cell process in our body relies on having adequate amounts of water. We can survive over a week without food (don’t try it), but wouldn’t last a couple of days without any water. Most of us fall short of the recommended 8 glasses a day, so here are some tips to get a few extra ounces in:

  1. As Soon as You Wake Up: The body does most of its repair work during sleep, and you need to replenish immediately upon waking up. Make it a habit to have a glass by your bed when you go to sleep. Drink a big glass before you have your coffee. After the morning stop in the bathroom, wash your hands and fill a glass!
  2. Before Every Meal: Knock down a glass before every meal. Not only will it hydrate you, it will help fill you up so you don’t overeat.
  3. As You Travel: Grab one of those fancy bottles, fill it up, and throw it in the car on the way to work. Bring a bottle on the train with you. Do your best to be resourceful and use your travel time to hydrate.
